69. Mignate Font
How to keep the fonts consistent after downloading a project file compiled on another computer?
When a project is completed, to prevent another person from editing the project when using it to update the HMI, the project is usually compiled into a .xob or .exob file and exchanged as such. However, after download, text layout can be very different from the original design. The following steps show how to solve this problem. The method described is suitable for EasyBuilder8000 and EasyBuilder Pro.
The reason is that when downloading the compiled project alone, the font files are not included in the .xob/.exob file, causing the texts to appear differently on another computer. Therefore, it is necessary to move the font files to the new PC manually as well. Suppose that the project is to be compiled on PC-1 and transferred to PC-2 for download, please follow the steps:
Step 1. Select “Build Font File” when compiling the project file on PC-1. Apart from the .xob or .exob file, the font files with the same name will also be built in EBpro\font folder.
Step 2. Copy the font files built in the previous step to the same folder on PC-2 (EBpro\font).
Step 3. On PC-2, use Project Manager or Utility Manager to download the .xob or .exob file to HMI. The software will detect the font files and download the font files to HMI.
